The Reds lined up at Villa Park naming a very strong side against a Villans team that consisted of teenagers after their first-team squad was hit by an outbreak of coronavirus.
Naturally, many expected it to be a walk in the park for the Anfield side but with things level at half-time, it was clear that the Villa kids were more than up for a fight.
Jurgen Klopp brought on Thiago at the break to try and seal the win, then, and that decision duly paid off with the Spanish international quickly orchestrating the game and helping the Reds to a 4-1 win.
And, that in mind, the former Bayern Munich man earned plenty of praise for his involvement at Villa Park.
