Lazio are interested in Liverpool centre-back Dejan Lovren, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, as cited by Sportsmole.
Lovren, who joined Liverpool from Southampton for a transfer fee of £20 million back in 2014, has had an interesting time at Anfield.
There have been times when he has been sensational, and then there have been times when he has struggled.
However, he has still been apart of a Liverpool squad that has won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup within the past eight months.
Despite this being the case, the 30-year-old is not getting any better or younger. He has only started nine Premier League matches this season.
The latest report from Gazzetta dello Sport states that Lazio may look at bringing Lovren across to the Serie A come the summer transfer window.
The report also states that Lazio will be up against Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur for Lovren’s signature.
If Liverpool were to lose Lovren come the end of the season, it would not be a huge loss. The Croatia international does put in some good performances, but his poor performances are the ones that are remembered.
Lovren signed for Liverpool back in 2014, and within those six years, he has not really improved. He has been a fine servant for the Reds, but there is no denying that Liverpool could do better.
