Reds forward Sadio Mane has been urged to leave Liverpool for either Barcelona or Real Madrid by Mady Toure.

Mane, who signed for Liverpool from Southampton back in 2016 for a fee of £34 million, has improved each season at Anfield as a player.

Mane is now one of the best players in the world. The Senegal international was named as Africa’s Player of the Year for 2019.

With that being the case, Toure, who founded the Generation Foot academy in Dakar where Mane once trained, believes that the Senegal international should force a move to either one of the big Spanish teams.

“The fact Sadio has won the African Ballon d’Or will spur him on to win the European one too,” Toure told the Guardian.

“That’s his objective. Sadio always told me he would become one of the best players in the world.

“He said that to me and now he is among them but he has to leave Liverpool now.

“It’s his last year and he has to leave Liverpool when it’s up to go to Barcelona or Real Madrid.”

These comments from Toure are quite bizarre. Liverpool are the best team in the world at this current moment, meaning a transfer to either Barcelona or Real Madrid would be a downgrade.

One also has to remember that Mane won’t be loved as much at another club. The Anfield faithful adore the Senegal international. Hopefully the thought of leaving isn’t on Mane’s mind.
