Reds forward Sadio Mane has stated that Liverpool still have a job to do to claim the Premier League title this season.

The Reds currently possess a 25-point lead at the top of the table, which means five more wins will secure a maiden Premier League title for the club.

Liverpool have only dropped points in one Premier League fixture this season, which was the 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford back in October.

Mane, who has just returned from an injury, scored the winner in Liverpool’s 1-0 victory over Norwich City at Carrow Road on the weekend.

However, despite the Reds claiming another three points in the Premier League, Mane was not getting too carried away after the match.

“It was the target from the beginning,” Mane said when asked about the title by Sky Sports, as quoted by LiverpoolFC.com.

“We are doing very well. We still have more games, [it’s] one step.

“We will do everything possible as a team and carry on in the same way. We’ll see what’s going to happen at the end of the season.”

Mane’s attitude is spot on. Until it is mathematically completed, there is no point in getting carried away. However, it is easy to see why people are getting excited.

Five more victories, depending on other results, is all that Liverpool need to clinch the title, which would be the first for the club in 30 years.
