Red Devils legend Rio Ferdinand has expressed his concern regarding the injury to Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

The 22-year-old sustained a back injury during his side’s FA Cup third round replay against Wolverhampton Wanderers last night. He made an appearance for 16 minutes in the second-half, and it proved to be very costly.

Manchester United are hopeful he will be available for the trip to Anfield this weekend for the Premier League clash against Liverpool, and so is Ferdinand going by social media.

There is no denying that Rashford does increase Manchester United’s chances of getting something from Anfield. He is a very good player, however, Liverpool are still by far the better side even if Rashford is fit and available to play.

The Reds possess a 14-point lead at the top of the table with a game in hand. Manchester United on the other hand sit in fifth and are five points outside the top four, which highlights the gulf in class between the two sides.
