Kylian Mbappe’s potential wage demands seem set to scupper a deal involving Liverpool given the finances involved and the current situation globally.

The Reds have been linked with the French superstar for some time and many have been excited on social media at the prospect of him heading to Anfield – though it’s obviously more speculation than anything else at the moment.

And, with Eurosport now reporting that the forward would want £500,000-a-week on his next contract either with PSG or any club he signs for, it’s hard to see it becoming a reality.

The striker is obviously one of the game’s biggest names already and is set to be one of the leading lights between now and the end of this decade so any club would like him.

With that in mind, he can obviously make huge demands and if this figure is accurate it surely leaves the Reds’ hopes of getting him in tatters. Indeed, Eurosport suggests that the Reds will simply not be able to afford such a wage package for the player.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

There will be repeated Mbappe speculation as time goes on towards the summer window and, indeed, until he either signs a new contract with PSG or indicates he is wanting to move elsewhere.

With those demands and the current financial situation globally, however, it is hard to see the Reds sanctioning such a move.
