Liverpool are close to securing new long-term contracts for both Virgil van Dijk and Alisson, according to 90Min.
The report states that the club have been in talks with the duo for some period of time, but things have started to progress as of late.
Van Dijk, who arrived at Liverpool from Southampton for a transfer fee of £75 million back in 2018, has arguably been Jurgen Klopp’s best signing.
Alisson, who arrived at Liverpool from Roma for a transfer fee of £67 million back in 2018, has not been too far behind Van Dijk in terms of importance.
Both Van Dijk and Alisson have won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup in the past eight months.
They will both add the Premier League title to the aforementioned list of achievements when the league resumes after the coronavirus clears.
It would be great news if Liverpool could get both of Van Dijk and Alisson signed up on long-term deals. They are sensational footballers and are a key reason why the Reds have achieved so much in recent times.
They both appear to love Liverpool, and it is not hard to see why. The supporters love them and they are winning trophies at the same time.
