Liverpool have no interest in re-signing midfielder Philippe Coutinho this summer, according to the Mirror’s David Maddock.

Coutinho, who departed Anfield for Barcelona for a transfer fee of £142 million back in January 2018, has not been able to make the impact that he would have liked at the La Liga club.

Coutinho was loaned out by Barcelona to Bayern Munich this season, which highlights just how badly the move to Spain has been for Coutinho.

It has been suggested by various reports that Coutinho will depart Barcelona this summer. It has also been suggested by various reports that Liverpool are interested in re-signing the Brazilian.

However, the Reds have zero interest in bringing Coutinho back to Anfield, according to the Mirror’s David Maddock.

This update from Maddock is what was needed. There have been too many reports suggesting that Liverpool were looking to re-sign the Brazilian, but those stories were clearly false.

It was a shame to see Coutinho depart Anfield back in 2018. He was a player that many adored on the Kop, but if this situation proves anything, the grass is not always greener on the other side.

There would be many Liverpool supporters who would welcome Coutinho back to the club, but as he did force his way out of Anfield, there would be many who wouldn’t welcome him back.
