Journalist Ian Doyle has stated that Liverpool have no current interest in Chelsea forward Willian.

It was reported last week that Liverpool were interested in Willian. The Chelsea winger is a free agent come the summer.

However, according to Doyle, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is not considering signing the 31-year-old at this current moment.

Given that winger Xherdan Shaqiri has been linked with a move away from Liverpool, I thought Klopp might genuinely be interested in Willian, as they both play in similar positions.

Willian’s overall performance rating in the Premier League this season is 7.25, which means he is performing to a solid level. This rating is also based off 1930 minutes of football, which is a fair sample size.

Salah’s overall performance rating in the 2019-20 Premier League season is 7.45, and he has played a total of 2250 minutes.

If we are going off the player ratings, Willian is performing to a similar level to a player that was named the PFA Player of the Year not so long ago.

But going by the update from Doyle, this is a signing the club will not be making, which is disappointing when one looks at the aforementioned statistics.
