Liverpool and Tottenham have joined the battle for the signature of Bruno Fernandes, according to Metro.
The player’s agent will travel to London to begin contract negotiations with interested parties, including Manchester United.
Champions Manchester City had been linked with the midfielder but have since cooled their interest, with United eager to complete a deal as soon as possible.
However, Champions League finalists Liverpool and Spurs have now entered the fray for the 28-goal player, who had a fine season with Sporting Lisbon.
The club are willing to sell him for around £71million, with United ready to firm up their interest soon.
Liverpool have good options in midfield but a player of Fernandes’ calibre would elevate any side, especially given the fact that he scores plenty of goals from that position.
Tottenham could be set to lose Christian Eriksen this summer and will look to replace him as soon as possible.
