Former Reds manager Rafa Benitez has sent Jurgen Klopp’s side a message after they claimed the 2019-20 Premier League title.

Benitez congratulated the Reds on Twitter for what they have achieved this season. Benitez highlighted that dreams do eventually come true.

Benitez’s tweet ultimately highlights that the club still has a special place in his heart. He clearly still has plenty of respect for the Reds.

Benitez did come close to winning the 2008-09 Premier League title. However, Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United were too strong in the end. Manchester United finished on 90 points that season. Liverpool finished on 86 points.

Benitez did win the Champions League in 2005, so the Premier League trophy was the only achievement that he missed out on during his time at Anfield.

However, the Spaniard is still a Liverpool legend in my eyes, as he did win the biggest trophy in club football with the Reds.

But, there is no denying that Klopp has surpassed Benitez at Liverpool. That is simply because Klopp has claimed the Premier League title with Liverpool.
