Pundit Lee Dixon has stated that Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has arguably been the best manager in the Premier League this season.

This comment has come despite Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp leading his team to 73 points from a possible 75 in the Premier League this season.

The Reds have only dropped points in one Premier League fixture this season, which was the 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford back in October.

This run of form currently sees Liverpool 22 points clear at the top of the table, which means it is looking likely that the club will break its 30-year league title drought.

Despite all of this, Dixon believes that Wilder has been the best manager in the Premier League this season, as he has led Sheffield United from promotion to fifth in the table.

“Arguably he has done a better job than what Jurgen Klopp is doing,” Dixon told the Premier League’s TV channel, as quoted by the Mirror.

“That place just seems to breathe hard work, that’s a given, you’ve got to give that. It’s not something you turn around and get praised for because that’s your job: work hard.

“The way that they are playing, the tactics, he has surprised a lot of opposition, the way they are playing.

“So arguably, I think he should be up there at the top of that list.”

Dixon isn’t completely out of line with his comments. In about any other Premier League season, Wilder would easily be the best performing manager.

What he has done with Sheffield United has been incredible. However, what Klopp is doing with Liverpool is ridiculous.
