Aston Villa are interested in Liverpool forward Divock Origi, according to the Mirror.

The report states that Aston Villa are looking for a new striker. Origi is apparently an option for Aston Villa providing that he can depart Anfield.

Origi’s contract expires in 2024. With that being the case, Liverpool are in a strong position to demand a hefty fee for the Belgian.

Of course, that is providing that Liverpool actually want to sell Origi. At this current moment, Origi is still a Liverpool player.

We personally don’t want to see the club sell the Belgian. Origi scored six goals and registered four assists in 42 appearances for the Reds last season.

They are not superb numbers, but Origi only started 13 of those games. Origi is a squad player, which can be backed up by the aforementioned numbers.

To be fair, he still contributed at times last season despite his role. We believe that he is a handy player to have around. Hopefully Origi is still at Anfield come next season.
