PSG forward Kylian Mbappe is reportedly looking to push for a move to Real Madrid over Liverpool next summer.

According to MEGA journalist Josep Pedrerol, Mbappe has his eyes fixed on a transfer to Real Madrid and the Spanish giants are the only side he is willing to leave PSG.

Mbappe has been linked with a transfer to Liverpool at the end of the 2020/21 season, with this latest update providing a possible blow to their plans going forward.

If the previous reports of Liverpool’s interest are genuine, this could cause them to massively alter their targets ahead of next summer. Mbappe, if the MEGA report it to be believed, is so set on a move to Real that he is willing to take a pay cut. This highlights how desperate he is to switch Paris for Madrid and why a move to Liverpool may not be on the cards.

This means that Liverpool may now have to do scout alternative options to improve their attack. Salah, Mane and Firmino will all be 29 by the start of the 2021/22 season and that could be a good time to bring in a younger forward to freshen up the group. Mbappe, who will be 22 at that point, could have been that player given his outstanding record for PSG.

Mbappe racked up 18 goals and five assists in 17 Ligue 1 starts last season, after managing 33 goals and seven assists in 24 starts the previous campaign. He has proven himself to be a reliable scorer at the top level despite his young age, but it appears as though he is one Liverpool are set to miss out on if Real Madrid can lure him away from the French champions.
