Liverpool were interested in signing Watford forward Ismaila Sarr in January, according to his agent.

However, apparently Liverpool could not afford Sarr at the time. Sarr’s agent has stated that Watford wanted £35 million for the winger in January.

According to The Athletic, Watford would like to retain Sarr heading into the 2021-22 season.

However, the report also states that Watford are prepared to sell Sarr for the right price.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

We would love to see Sarr playing for the Reds. The winger has had a very good season for Watford.

Sarr has scored 13 goals and registered 10 assists in 39 Championship appearances this season.

Sarr is also averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.13 in the Championship this season. Also, Sarr is only 23 years of age. He has a long career ahead of him.

There has been no news to suggest that Liverpool will look to sign Sarr in the summer. But, the fact Liverpool have considered signing Sarr in the past does suggest that the club could look to sign the winger in the future.

Only time will tell if Liverpool are to make an official move for Sarr.
