Arsenal are said to be ‘confident’ of signing Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma for £30m this summer as they look to beat Liverpool to his signature.

The Reds have been linked with the player a fair deal this season with Gini Wijnaldum’s future still up in the air.

Indeed, if the Dutchman leaves then there will naturally be a need for a replacement and Bissouma is one of the players that has been identified as a potential successor.

According to the Daily Star, Liverpool are among those keen but Arsenal are said to be ‘confident’ that they are going to get him in for £30m.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Bissouma has had an excellent time at Brighton and Hove Albion since arriving and you can see why Liverpool are looking at him.

He’s a player that fits the sort of profile the Reds have gone for in recent years. A player with big potential and room to grow that has not yet made a move to one of the big clubs in the game – with all due respect to a Brighton side that has done well this season.

Arsenal are obviously lurking, but hopefully the Reds can beat them if they want him too.
