Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho has made a “personal plea” to Reds boss Jurgen Klopp about returning to Liverpool, according to Kevin Palmer from Sunday World.

The report states that Coutinho’s agent has confirmed that the Brazilian would be prepared to take a pay cut to return to Anfield.

The report adds that Liverpool will have to consider if they can actually afford to bring Coutinho back to the club.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

I would personally love Coutinho back at Anfield, and I’ll explain why. The Brazilian has apparently admitted that he made a mistake departing the club for Barcelona in 2018.

With that being the case, I feel he would have more of an appreciation playing for Liverpool the second time around if he did return.

However, the main reason why I want Coutinho back is because of his quality. He did score 54 goals and register 45 assists in 201 appearances for the Reds.

Going by Palmer’s report, Coutinho returning to Anfield really does depend on whether Liverpool could afford to bring him back.
