Former Red Peter Crouch was left impressed with three individuals throughout Liverpool’s 1-0 victory against Everton in the FA Cup at Anfield.
As Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp only had 12 senior players fit heading into the clash, the boss made wholesale changes.
Curtis Jones, who was one of the three players that left Crouch impressed, scored the winner in the second-half with a goal that he certainly won’t be forgetting anytime soon.
However, without Adrian’s big saves in the first-half, the Reds would never have been in the game. With that being the case, Crouch also gave the goalkeeper the tick of approval. Lastly, it was full-back Neco Williams who also impressed Crouch.
“They’ve acquitted themselves well,” Crouch said on BBC One. “They’ve had more possession, for a young team that’s fantastic.
“Curtis Jones I think’s been very comfortable in midfield, Neco Williams, some very positive performances.”
Crouch added: “The keeper you have to say has kept them in it.”
All the players that Crouch listed had sensational games. It was not an easy fixture to make wholesale changes for, as Everton did field a strong XI.
However, players such as Jones, Adrian and Williams made the result possible, as they played to a standard which the Toffees could not deal with. This result will not be forgotten heading into the future.
