Liverpool are interested in Greek striker Marios Tzavidas, according to journalist Nikos Tzouannis.

Juventus and Atletico Madrid are also interested in Tzavidas, according to Trifilara, as cited by Tribal Football.

The 16-year-old currently plays for Panathinaikos.

Tzouannis has tweeted that Tzavidas is considered to be “one of the most talented players of his generation”.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

We have never seen Tzavidas play live, but if he is “one of the most talented players of his generation”, he must be a decent player. That tag is not just thrown at any player.

Tzavidas is a striker, and Liverpool have been able to produce some very good strikers over the years.

The three forwards that currently play for Liverpool (Roberto Fimino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane) scored 45 goals and registered 24 assists between them in the Premier League last season.

If Tzavidas made the move to Liverpool, he could learn off the likes of Firmino, Salah and Mane.

Tzavidas is only 16 years of age, which means that he would be a player that the club would be signing for the future.

He is still learning his craft. It would be fair to assume that he would not be ready for first-team football at Anfield as of yet, and that is regardless of how well he has done as a junior.
