Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo has stated that his side need to enter the Premier League clash against Liverpool with a clear mind.

The Reds travel to the Molineux Stadium tonight looking to build on their 13-point lead at the top of the Premier League table. Wolves are also having a good season, as they sit in seventh.

Liverpool have only dropped points in one Premier League fixture this season, which was the 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford back in October.

With Liverpool’s record as intimidating as it is, Nuno believes his side can’t enter the clash thinking of what could happen.

“We have to play the game. When you go to the game you cannot think what will happen,” said Nuno, as quoted by Wolves Bite.

“So focus on your tasks – that’s the best way to approach the competition to us.

“We’re going to need a good performance. When you perform well, you are closer to achieving what you want. But for now, it’s to compete and to play well.”

Nuno does make a fair point. Many sides enter games against Liverpool already beaten. Tonight’s clash could arguably be Liverpool’s toughest Premier League game of the season.

Wolves have defeated Manchester City twice this season, which highlights the quality they possess. Liverpool are certainly in for a tough game tonight.

Liverpool defeated Wolves 1-0 in the Premier League at Anfield earlier this season.
