Watford are willing to sell Ismaila Sarr for a fee around £40 million, according to the Evening Standard.

The report states that Liverpool are the front runners to sign the winger. However, some Liverpool fans can’t believe the fee that Watford are demanding for the winger.

A Liverpool supporter said that there is “not a chance” that Sarr is worth £40 million.

Another Reds supporter stated that the aforementioned fee is “probably our [Liverpool’s] entire budget”.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

We agree that Sarr is not worth £40 million. The reality is, Sarr made 30 appearances for Watford last season. He scored six goals and registered six assists.

According to TransferMarkt, Sarr is currently worth €24.50 million. The aforementioned numbers highlight that he is player not worthy of a £40 million price tag.

With that being the case, we do not see Liverpool signing Sarr for £40 million. We wouldn’t mind seeing Sarr at Anfield, as he is still only 22 years of age. He still has a future ahead of him.

He apparently looks up to Liverpool winger Sadio Mane. Perhaps learning off Mane could improve him as a player.

However, we only want to see him at Anfield providing that the transfer fee is reasonable.
