Former Red Mohamed Sissoko has stated that he expects Liverpool forward Sadio Mane to depart Anfield.

Mane, who signed for Liverpool from Southampton back in 2016 for a fee of ¬£34 million, has arguably become Jurgen Klopp’s most important player in attack.

The winger has won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup in the past eight months.

He is also likely to add the Premier League title to the aforementioned list of achievements when the coronavirus clears.

However, despite how well everything is going for Mane at Liverpool, Sissoko expects the winger to depart Anfield for Real Madrid.

Speaking to EuropaCalcio, as quoted by Sportsmole, Sissoko said: “I do not know if Salah will stay at Liverpool. If he left, it could also be a good thing for Liverpool – they are a clever club and they would know how to replace him.

“I think Mane is likelier to, because he has the characteristics that Zidane wants – he really rates him. I think Mane will go to Real Madrid.”

These type of comments have come from plenty of people this season. As of right now, there is nowhere better to be than Liverpool Football Club.

Any move away from Anfield would be a downgrade, which is why I find it bizarre that people think Mane will depart. The club are challenging on every major front, which should be enough to keep Mane at Liverpool.
