Former Red Michael Owen has given his prediction for Liverpool’s Premier League clash against West Ham United.

Liverpool will face the Hammers at Anfield on Saturday evening.

Owen believes that West Ham United could cause Liverpool some problems across the 90 minutes.

However, Owen is backing Jurgen Klopp’s side to secure a 3-1 victory over David Moyes’ team.

Owen told BetVictor: “Liverpool take on West Ham having been dealt a double blow this week. The Reds have lost both Virgil Van Dijk and Fabinho to injury, so it will be very interesting to see how they adapt.

“They come up against a West Ham side that have put in some excellent performances this season, but at the same time have flattered to deceive on occasion.

“I think the Hammers could cause Liverpool problems, but I fancy Jurgen Klopp’s side will have too much going forward and I reckon we’ll see a home win with both sides scoring. 3-1.”

In the 2019-20 Premier League season, Liverpool secured a 3-2 victory against West Ham United at Anfield.

Gini Wijnaldum, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane were Liverpool’s goalscorers on the night.

We are confident that Liverpool can secure another three points at Anfield this weekend.

After six Premier League games this season, Liverpool sit second in the table. West Ham United sit 12th in the Premier League.

The aforementioned statistics highlight that Liverpool are in better form. With that being the case, we believe that Klopp’s side should be claiming a victory against Moyes’ team.

Therefore, we agree with Owen’s aforementioned prediction.

But, it won’t just happen. Liverpool need to rock up with the right mentality. There is no easy game in the Premier League.
