Former Red Michael Owen believes that Liverpool will claim the three points against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium on Thursday night.
The Reds enter the clash with a 13-point lead at the top of the Premier League table with two games in hand.
Liverpool’s last Premier League clash was the 2-0 victory against Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday.
Owen expects Liverpool to continue in their winning ways, despite the fact Wolves do possess a genuine threat.
“Wolves came from two goals down to win at St Mary’s on Saturday, but they have now conceded the first goal in their last seven league games and I’m not convinced they can give Liverpool a goal start at Molineux on Thursday,” Owen told BetVictor, as quoted by The Sport Review.
“The reverse fixture between the sides at Anfield over Christmas was a cracker, with the visitors arguably unfortunate not to pick up a point.
“But Liverpool are in such irresistible form at present that they cannot be opposed.”
Wolves are a good football team, especially at home. They currently sit sixth in the Premier League, meaning this will be a tough game.
However, Liverpool have not given anyone one reason to tip against them. They have only dropped points in one Premier League fixture this season, which was the 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford back in October 2019.
Jurgen Klopp’s side also claimed a 2-0 victory in the corresponding fixture last season. They should get the job done again, as they are the best team in the world.
