Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic is set to sign a season-long loan with Hertha Berlin, but will sign a new deal with Liverpool before doing so, according to James Pearce from The Liverpool Echo.

There has been plenty of speculation regarding Grujic’s future. Cardiff City came across as favourites to gain the services of the Serbian for this season, but Hertha Berlin got their man.

With Jurgen Klopp signing the likes of Naby Keita and Fabinho, it was going to be difficult for Grujic to get minutes in the middle of the park this season.

Liverpool were still keen to get Grujic to agree to a new contract as they view his future at Anfield a bright one, but for the time being, a loan move away seems best for both parties.
