Marko Grujic told the Liverpool Echo that he misses the club and wants a long term future with the Reds even though he has excelled in the Bundesliga.
The Serbian has spent the last 14 months on loan with Hertha Berlin and he has made significant improvement but certainly has plenty of room to improve in a defensive sense.
His tendency to make rash tackles means he is something of a liability against top sides but his frame, technical ability and age will ensure he is in the back of Jurgen Klopp’s mind next summer.
The 23-year-old has a future at Liverpool so long as he is determined to succeed with the Reds.
He told The Echo: “It’s not easy to become a part of the Liverpool squad, I can see myself in the Red shirt but I have to become more experienced before I can wear it again.
“I want to improve my physical performance and take my concentration to another level. I want to be ready for Liverpool so I will have a chance to get into the team.
“Sometimes I miss Liverpool, of course, it’s one of the greatest teams in the world, but for my development, it’s more important to play regularly right now.”
