Lorenzo Insigne and Arkadiusz Milik are set to miss the Liverpool clash in the Champions League on Tuesday, reports Football Italia.
After training alone on Wednesday, Insigne is a doubt to face the Reds which is good news for Liverpool after the diminutive forward scored the winner against them in Naples last season.
His presence will not be missed by the European Champions while Milik, who has already been out of action for a month, has suffered a setback in his recovery and will not feature next week.
For Liverpool, Naby Keita, Alisson Becker and Nathaniel Clyne will all miss the first Champions League meeting of the season but Jurgen Klopp’s squad has more than enough quality to cope without the injured trio.
Even without Insigne and Milik, Napoli will have enough firepower to cause Liverpool serious issues but the early season form of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah should prove to strong for the visitors.
Klopp’s trusted big game midfield of Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and Fabinho will likely protect a back five of Adrian, Andy Robertson, Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Tuesday is Liverpool’s first Champions League game since they won their sixth European Cup in June and they will hopefully put on a show for their away fans on Tuesday.
