Some Liverpool supporters have responded to Timo Werner’s recent Twitter post.

The Reds were reportedly looking to sign Werner earlier this year. However, the financial impact of the coronavirus meant that Liverpool could not sign the German.

With that being the case, Chelsea signed Werner for a transfer fee of £53 million.

Werner posted a few images on Twitter of him training with the Chelsea. Some Liverpool supporters decided to comment on the aforementioned post.

One Liverpool supporter claimed that Werner “looks horrible” in Blue.

There is no denying that Werner would have been a good signing for Liverpool. The striker scored 34 goals and registered 13 assists in 45 appearances for RB Leipzig last season.

Liverpool did score 85 goals in the Premier League last season, so goals are currently not an issue.

However, the aforementioned numbers do suggest that Werner would have added something to Liverpool’s attack next season.

He certainly would have given Klopp another option in attack. But, it was not meant to be. The Liverpool supporters just need to move on.
