Liverpool youngster Tom Hill has signed a new deal with the club.

Hill, 17, has been with the club since the under-six level.

Hill predominantly played in the under-18’s last season. He scored eight goals and registered one assist.

However, Hill did actually manage to play for Liverpool’s first XI last season. The midfielder played against Aston Villa at Villa Park in the Carabao Cup.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Hill is clearly impressing the right people. He has been at the club for such a long time, which does suggest that he continues to improve each season.

If Hill was not improving, it would be fair to assume that he would have been moved on by now.

Former Red Jamie Carragher has seen a bit of Hill. He believes that Hill is a “smashing player and kid”. Carragher certainly knows what he is talking about, as he did make 737 appearances for Liverpool.

Only time will tell if Hill is good enough to play for Liverpool’s first XI consistently.
