The Catalonians are keen to sign the Napoli star and will submit a €60m bid in January but given the Serie A outfit’s desire to hold onto Ruiz, it’s unlikely they will succeed with anything below €70m.
Since his move from La Liga, the former Real Betis midfielder has attracted plenty of attention from big clubs around Europe and while Napoli won’t let him leave the club in January, there will likely be a bidding war over his services next summer.
Depending on how successful Liverpool are this season they could be at the front of the queue to sign the Ruiz.
While Naby Keita is the most talented midfielder at the club and has the potential to become the best midfielder in the Premier League, his injury record is worrying and a failure to kick on this season could see someone like Ruiz recruited to add goals in midfield.
Liverpool didn’t spend any money this summer and so will be able to spend a lot more than usual when the transfer window opens in June 2020 with the likes of Ruiz sure to be on their agenda.
With reports claiming Liverpool are no longer interested in Kai Havertz, the Spain international is arguably the best alternative.
