Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum has reportedly decided to leave the Reds at the end of the current season and will head to FC Barcelona.
The Dutch midfielder has been subject to a mountain of speculation this season with his contract in its final year and, with six months left, it appears a breakthrough in terms of what he wants to do has been reached.
According to Dutch sources via The Mirror, the Liverpool no.5 will now snub any contract offer the Reds put forward and will opt to join Barcelona, fulfilling what is being described as a ‘childhood dream.’
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
Of course, until a decision is made official by the club or player we will have to wait and see exactly what is going to happen but this report is the clearest yet to suggest which path the Dutchman is going to head down.
The story has been so far that he would like to sign a new deal with Liverpool but the offers coming from the club have not been good enough and, perhaps, the suggestion is now he has decided to up sticks and leave.
Time will tell exactly as to what is going to happen but it seems some are of the opinion he is going to move.
