Liverpool want to sign Fabian Ruiz €70million in 2020, according to Calciomeracto, with Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich all interested in acquiring his services.
The report claims that the 23-year-old is a target for Liverpool but if Jurgen Klopp is indeed interested in signing him when the 2020 summer transfer window opens, he won’t come cheap.
Napoli signed him for €30million (£26.7m) but now value him at around €70m (£62.9m) and if they are able to, they will use the interest from Bayern, Barcelona and Real Madrid to spark a bidding war.
Last season was impressive for Ruiz as he scored seven goals and provided three assists operating as a silky link between defence and attack, allowing Carlo Ancelotti’s side to play an attractive brand of football.
Whether or not Liverpool need another midfielder is debatable especially given the price tag that someone like Ruiz would command but the Napoli man would thrive under Jurgen Klopp if he joined the Reds.
His ability to glide past opposition players would make him the ideal player to add quality in the attacking third while he’s not afraid to get stuck in and contribute to his side’s defensive efforts.
It remains to be seen whether or not there’s any truth to Calciomercato’s report but Napoli’s ability to retain their best stars could prove to be a major stumbling block in enticing them to release Ruiz.
