Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Wolves forward Adama Traore next summer as they plan ahead to bolster their squad.

According to Mundo Deportivo, as transcribed by Sport Witness, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a fan of Adama and wants to bring him to Anfield in one of the coming transfer windows next year.

The report claims that Wolves are demanding a fee of €70m for the former Barcelona man Adama, but it is not stated whether or not Liverpool would be willing to meet their demands.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Would Adama be a good addition to Liverpool’s squad? Yes. The Spanish international would add variety and depth to Liverpool’s attacking options and, at 24, he still has room to develop and improve under a coach like Klopp.

Last season in the Premier League, Adama produced an impressive four goals and nine assists for Wolves as he recorded a WhoScored rating of 7.49. This was the third-highest rating in the division, with only Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne and Leicester’s Ricardo Pereira ahead of him – with Riyad Mahrez and Sadio Mane just behind Adama.

He has also had a strong start to the current campaign, with a rating of 7.21 across the first four Premier League matches. Adama has been deployed as a wing-back in two of his appearances, highlighting the versatility he could offer Liverpool if he arrived at Anfield – as he can play in defence and further forward on the wing. This could offer Klopp a variety of options in how to set his side up with Adama in the team and give him a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold if he was ever unavailable.
