Liverpool are interested in Brighton and Hove Albion defender Ben White, according to Leeds Live.

White spent the entire 2019-20 season on loan with Leeds United. White played his part in helping Leeds United gain promotion to the Premier League. The defender made 46 appearances for Leeds United in the Championship last season.

White has now returned to Brighton and Hove Albion, and it has been reported that Liverpool are interested in the 22-year-old.

Leeds Live have not stated that Liverpool will definitely sign White, but they certainly imply that the Anfield club have some interest in the defender.

The Times recently reported that Liverpool centre-back Dejan Lovren is poised to depart Anfield when the upcoming transfer window opens.

With that being the case, it would make sense for Liverpool to replace Lovren in the upcoming transfer window.

White would be a superb replacement. He is young, which means that Liverpool would be signing a player for the future. Liverpool would get quite a few years out of White.

White still has two years left on his current contract, which means that Liverpool would need to pay a fee to sign the defender.

It has been suggested that Brighton and Hove Albion have no intention of selling White. However, if Liverpool submitted a decent offer to Brighton and Hove Albion for White, they might not be able to refuse.

It is common knowledge that money definitely talks in football.
