Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum has been offered to Bayern Munich, according to German outlet AZ, as cited by CaughtOffside.

Wijnaldum’s current contract expires at the end of the 2020-21 season. With that being the case, clubs will be able to sign Wijnaldum on a free transfer come the summer.

However, the Bundesliga club apparently have no interest in signing Wijnaldum because he is at the backend of his career.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

To be fair, Wijnaldum is only 30 years of age. The Dutchman has also shown this season that he is durable. Wijnaldum has made 46 appearances for the Reds.

Wijnaldum has been decent for Liverpool this season. He is averaging a WhoScored player rating of 6.74 across the 2020-21 campaign. Wijnaldum also has a current market value of €35 million.

The aforementioned figures highlight that Wijnaldum’s career is far from finished.

If Wijnaldum does leave Liverpool this summer, we will miss the Dutchman. He has been a fine servant for the club.

Wijnaldum has made 232 appearances for the Reds. Right now, no one knows where Wijnaldum will be playing next season. Only time will tell.
