Manchester United are on course to agree a deal to sign Liverpool-linked Jadon Sancho that could rise from £80m to an eventual £100m, according to a report from The Times.
The winger is going to represent England this summer on the international stage at the European Championships and it’ll be fascinating to see how he gets on.
We could get more of a closer look at him in this country from next season, too, with The Times reporting that Manchester United will pay £80m over a batch of installments, with a further £20m then potentially added on, as they report that the deal is edging nearer.
Liverpool, of course, have been linked with a move for the player this summer, too, but it looks as though they were never really in the race to sign him, with him regularly linked with United in past seasons.
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
Of course, we have seen such reports before that the player is close to heading to Old Trafford and then he never does, so we’ll have to wait and see whether it actually goes through this year.
Liverpool never seemed likely to spend such big money this summer, though, and they’ll instead be looking to bring in some players that perhaps represent more of a bargain.
