Liverpool are interested in signing winger Quincy Promes this summer, according to Sport.ru, as cited by Sport Witness.
Promes, 28, currently plays for Ajax. The Reds have been linked with a move for the forward in the past, but nothing ever eventuated from those rumours.
This fresh report states that Ajax will demand at least €40 million for Promes’ services. The report also states that Chelsea could be interested in signing Promes, which means that the Reds and the Blues could go head-to-head to secure the signing of the Dutchman.
It is difficult to say at this moment and time whether Liverpool are genuinely interested in the winger. However, it would be far from the worst signing.
Liverpool do need some depth to cover the front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane. Promes could certainly provide that.
Promes has scored eleven goals in 17 Eredivisie matches this season. Being 28 years old, Promes has enough experience within his career to be adaptable. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp likes players who are exactly that.
