Liverpool have made a €10 million bid for Real Betis defender Aissa Mandi, according to COPE, as cited by Sport Witness.

Mandi apparently has a release clause of €30 million. However, his current contract expires in June 2021.

With that being the case, the report suggests that Real Betis can’t expect to receive a transfer fee of around €30 million.

Liverpool recently sold centre-back Dejan Lovren to Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg. Liverpool reportedly received £10.9 million for selling Lovren.

With that being the case, Liverpool are currently a centre-back short. Mandi, who is a centre-back, would be a solid replacement for Lovren.

Mandi is an experienced defender at 28 years of age. He has made 141 senior appearances for Real Betis. He has also scored five goals and registered two assists during his time at the La Liga club.

Liverpool should also be able to sign Mandi at a reasonable price due to his contract situation.

If the club have placed a €10 million bid to secure the services of Mandi, hopefully that is enough to persuade Real Betis to sell.
