4608 Liverpool fans voted ‘yes’ on a poll that asked whether or not the Reds should make a move to sign Timo Werner.
The Mirror reports that Liverpool and Manchester United are set to go head to head in the near future to sign Werner, with clubs able to trigger his low release clause of just £27million.
In the current transfer market, that is an absolute steal and Liverpool should be all over it if they want to show that they can boast the same kind of depth in attacking positions when compared to Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola has Gabriel Jesus, Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez, Bernardo Silva and Leroy Sane in his squad and while the latter is currently injured, City have barely slowed down going forward.
Should Liverpool go after Timo Werner?

Meanwhile, a serious injury to one of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane or Roberto Firmino would likely derail Liverpool’s season as they don’t have anyone of the same quality ready to come into the starting lineup.
Werner is a traditional centre forward but is also able to play on the wing. This season, he has scored 17 goals for club and country and that prolificacy at just £27m would make the Reds even more devastating in attack.
It would also mean that Liverpool’s current front three would be under pressure to perform because their position in the starting XI would be under constant scrutiny.
