Calciomercato report that Liverpool are interested in signing Fabian Ruiz from Napoli and supporters are excited about the prospect of seeing the Spaniard join the club.

They claim that the Reds will have competition from Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich while Napoli are reluctant to let the Spanish maestro go and will demand a minimum of €70million (£62.9m).

In all competitions last season, Ruiz scored seven goals and created another three for teammates, attracting attention from the biggest clubs in Europe with his silky and stylish style of play.

Here is how Liverpool supporters reacted to Calciomeracto’s report:

Signing Ruiz in the summer of 2020 would provide Jurgen Klopp with that missing link between attack and defence that Philippe Coutinho so effectively provided when he was a Liverpool player.

What the Napoli star would offer that the Bayern Munich gem wouldn’t is a more balanced approach. Coutinho was rather gung-ho in his desire to score from range and often over-ambitious with his passing.

Klopp likes his midfield to be more balanced and even conservative and limited at times which plays into Ruiz’s hands. The 23-year-old waits for the perfect moment to go on a spell-binding run from deep and will time his runs to perfection.
