Many Liverpool fans were impressed with the performance of Salzburg’s Takumi Minamino against the Reds last night in the Champions League.
Liverpool defeated the Austrian side 2-0 thanks to goals from Naby Keita and Mohamed Salah, which secured the Reds a place in the last 16 of the Champions League.
It was a nervy evening for the Reds. Jurgen Klopp’s side simply could not lose, or they would have been dumped into the Europa League and Salzburg would have progressed into the knockout rounds of Europe’s elite competition.
Despite what was on the line last night, the performance of forward Minamino left many Liverpool supporters impressed.
Minamino created three goalscoring opportunities for his side, which matched the performance level of Liverpool’s winger Sadio Mane.
Liverpool supporters all across the world took to Twitter to appreciate the performance of the Japanese forward.
Would have Minamino over Håland, all day long.

Everyone raves about Haaland in this Salzburg side but Minamino and Hwang are a joy to watch. They're such fun players.

Regardless of the outcome I’d be securing a deal for Minamino before we leave the ground. What an absolutely delightful footballer he is.

Minamino is 100% a player we should be targeting for next year. Standout player in both legs, caused us big problems and suits our style. I think given Klopp’s guidance he could be a monster.

As Liverpool supporters have seen Minamino over two games in the Champions League this season, they are well qualified to give an opinion on him.
He does appear to be a player that would fit Klopp’s style of play. He is quick, industrious and good on the ball. Perhaps the Reds will make a move for him next summer.
