Liverpool have an eye on Valencia’s Ferran Torres, according to the Mirror.
The 20-year-old is also on Real Madrid’s radar, which highlights just how talented the forward is.
Valencia are reluctant to let Torres depart. It has been stated in the Spanish media that the La Liga club could be protected by a €90 million release clause.
However, the Mirror believe that the release clause could be much lower. Torres’ current contract expires in the summer of 2021.
If the Spaniard refuses to sign a new contract, this could force Valencia to sell, which is good news to the clubs that are interested in the forward.
Torres has had a solid campaign for Valencia. The youngster has two goals and two assists next to his name in five Champions League appearances this season.
There is no denying that Liverpool need more depth in attack. Torres is a consistent starter for Valencia, meaning that he understands senior football.
He is also proven in the Champions League, which is a huge bonus. The reality is, the likes of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane do not get rotated enough.
That is a result of a lack of depth in the squad. Torres could help eradicate that issue. However, it might be difficult fending off Real Madrid.
