Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has been listed in the top 20 passers in the upcoming video game FIFA 21.
EA Sports have announced the top-rated players based on their passing stats for the game, with Alexander-Arnold making the top 20.
Only eight players have a higher passing rating than Alexander-Arnold (87), with Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne (93) coming in at number one. Lionel Messi, Christian Eriksen, Luka Modric, Bruno Fernandes. Dani Parejo and David Silva are the only other players ahead of the Liverpool right-back.
He is also on par with Chelsea’s Hakim Ziyech, Eibar’s Pedro Leon and Barcelona’s Miralem Pjanic.
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
Given that Alexander-Arnold has produced 25 assists in two Premier League seasons from right-back for Liverpool, this does appear to be a fair call from FIFA. His passing from defence has been crucial to how Liverpool have played under Jurgen Klopp – as shown by the aforementioned assist numbers he has totted up.
The England international racked up four goals and 13 assists in the Premier League last season as Liverpool won the Premier League title for the first time in their history. He was also named in the PFA Team of the Year to reaffirm how important he was for the Reds.
These achievements highlight why Alexander-Arnold is worthy of being in the top 20 passers in FIFA 21. Hopefully, he will be able to continue to provide excellent assists for Liverpool in the Premier League this season and lead the club to a second successive title ahead of their rivals.
