Former Red Don Hutchison has commented on reported Liverpool target Thiago Alcantara.

Thiago featured for Bayern Munich against Chelsea in the Champions League the other night.

Bayern Munich won the game 3-0, and Thiago finished the match with an overall player rating of 8.17.

Despite the aforementioned figure highlighting that Thiago played well against Chelsea, Hutchison still made a comment questioning the midfielder.

Thiago pulled out of a 50-50 challenge in the match, according to Hutchison. Hutchison believes that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp would not “be liking that”.

Klopp has stated in the past that he likes “heavy metal” football. He wants his style of football to be “loud”.

At the time, Klopp was implying that he likes intense football, which includes tackling.

With that being the case, Hutchison is arguably correct. Klopp would probably not like Thiago pulling out of a challenge.

However, if Klopp is interested in signing Thiago, we doubt one moment from one match would put the German off the idea.

The reality is, Thiago played very well against Chelsea, which can be backed up by his overall player rating for the match.

Thiago’s good moments in the match certainly outweighed the bad moments.
