Jurgen Klopp was delighted with Liverpool’s win over Tottenham on Sunday, but there was one aspect of the game that pleased him in particular.

Toby Alderweireld bundled the ball into his own net after goalkeeper Hugo Lloris spilled it, and it all came from a Mo Salah header.

Klopp was eager to praise the Egyptian, and pointed out that the move that led to the goal came straight from the training ground.

“It felt like to me it was his goal – he was there and it was the decisive moment,” said Klopp.

“That Mo was in that situation was off the training ground with a cross from the second ball. I was really pleased when I watched it back.

“We didn’t adapt quickly enough to Spurs’ system change but that won’t happen again. It will be an interesting game on Friday night.”
