Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has spoken about the fitness of Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.

Henderson was forced off the pitch against Brighton and Hove Albion last night.

Klopp does not know how serious Henderson’s knee injury is. With that being the case, he could not say much more.

As quoted by the club’s official website, Klopp said: “I don’t know [how serious it is], I don’t know, honestly. I didn’t see the situation back on the pitch, but I know that it will not be nothing, probably. That’s how it is, but we have to wait. I cannot say more.”

The midfielder did actually score Liverpool’s second goal of the match. Liverpool left the Amex Stadium having claimed a 3-1 win.

The club should not be rushing to get Henderson back out on the pitch.

As Liverpool have already claimed the 2019-20 Premier League title, there would be no point in Henderson playing the remainder of the season if he is not 100 percent fit.

The club should simply focus on getting Henderson back to full fitness. Henderson has been very good for Liverpool this season.

The midfielder has made 40 appearances for the Reds this campaign. He has scored four goals and registered five assists.

There has been talk that perhaps Henderson could be the PFA Player of the Year, which does highlight how well the Englishman has played this season.
