Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has stated that three players could return for Liverpool’s upcoming Premier League clash against Chelsea.

The Reds welcome the Blues to Anfield on Thursday night. Liverpool were without Diogo Jota (illness), Alisson (personal reasons) and Fabinho (injury) against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane last night.

However, Klopp says the aforementioned players could return against Chelsea.

Klopp told the club’s official website: “Alisson and Fabinho, I’m pretty sure [will be available].

“With Diogo, he was with us in the hotel, but he got sick overnight and we had to send him home. It depends how quick he will recover, obviously.

“He was in the squad and as I said before, he trained with the team and it all looked really good but unfortunately he got sick overnight. I think he will be available, but I don’t know.”

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Liverpool’s upcoming clash against Chelsea is a huge game. Liverpool currently sit in sixth-place on the Premier League table.

Chelsea on the other hand sit in fifth-place on the Premier League table. Chelsea are one-point ahead of Liverpool, also.

A spot in the top four is on the line. With that being the case, neither side will want to lose come Thursday night.

Therefore, it would be great if Jota, Alisson and Fabinho were all available. They are all first-team quality players, which means that they will definitely improve the team.

Liverpool are heading into the clash having beaten Sheffield United 2-0 at Bramall Lane last weekend.
