Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has stated that Manchester City are still a fantastic side despite the fact they have fallen so far behind Liverpool this season.

The Citizens lost 2-0 to Spurs in London yesterday, which ultimately took the Reds closer to a maiden Premier League title.

The Reds currently possess a 22-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, which means Liverpool can secure the title with six more wins.

Mourinho has stated that Manchester City are still a superb side despite the lead Liverpool have accumulated over them this season.

“It was a good weekend, we got two points to Arsenal, to Chelsea, to Leicester, to Wolves, we didn’t lose points to Sheffield (United), it is good for us,” Mourinho told Sky Sports after Spurs’ victory over Manchester City.

“Obviously, against the champions, still the champions. A fantastic team, even if they are going to lose the title.”

Mourinho does make a fair point. The Citizens are a terrific team, but they have truly let themselves down this season.

To be fair, Liverpool have just been far too good for them, and the Premier League table highlights that being the case.

Mourinho is correct in regards to stating that Liverpool will claim the Premier League title this season. It will happen, which many rival supporters have simply accepted.

If nothing changes, Liverpool will have the opportunity to win the Premier League title against Crystal Palace at Anfield on March 21.
