Former Red John Aldridge believes that Wolverhampton Wanderers are one of the best away teams to grace the Anfield pitch this season.

The Reds faced Wolves at the end of 2019 in the Premier League and claimed a 1-0 victory thanks to Sadio Mane’s first-half strike.

It was a tough outing for Liverpool, but like they do most the time, they found a way to secure the three points.

Aldridge believes that the performance Wolves put in on the day was one of the best away performances he has seen at Anfield this season.

Liverpool face Wolves tonight at the Molineux Stadium in the Premier League, but Aldridge believes that the Reds should claim the three points.

Aldridge wrote in The Evening Herald: “Wolves were one of the best teams I have seen at Anfield this season and they will fancy their chances of being the first team to beat Liverpool at Molineux this evening, but if Klopp’s team play anywhere near their best, they will win again. It’s as simple as that.”

It is difficult to disagree with Aldridge. Wolves are a very good side, and the fact they have defeated Manchester City twice this season backs that statement up.

Tonight could arguably be Liverpool’s toughest game of the Premier League season thus far, meaning Jurgen Klopp’s side will have to be switched on if they want to claim the three points.
