Former Red Jamie Carragher was speaking about Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish on Sky Sports recently.

Grealish has not genuinely been linked with a move to Liverpool.

However, that did not stop Carragher stating that the Englishman is currently not good enough to play for the Anfield club.

“I think Jack [Grealish] is in a position similar to [Wilfried] Zaha at Palace, where the type of money to get him out of the club you are talking £60 or £70 million,” Carragher told Sky Sports on the 21st of September.

“I don’t think they are quite good enough to play for Liverpool or Manchester City, and teams just below the top four I don’t think they’d want to pay the money to get him.”

Grealish was pretty good for Aston Villa last season. He scored 10 goals and registered eight assists in 41 appearances. Eight of those goals came in the Premier League.

The aforementioned numbers highlight that Grealish can score and create from the middle of the park.

Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Gini Wijnaldum all scored four goals each from midfield in the Premier League last season. No other Liverpool midfielder scored more.

Liverpool lack a goalscoring midfielder. With that being the case, we believe that Grealish is good enough to play for the Reds as an attacking midfielder.

He would bring something different to the table. But, as of right now, there has been no news to suggest that Liverpool are interested in Grealish.
